The objective of the Institutes for the Achievement of Intellectual Excellence is to create intellectual excellence in every child in the world. And we do this by teaching parents. Both the parents of brain injured children and the parents of well children, how to teach their own children from birth onwards. And thus intellectual excellence is created. In our children’s center for brain injured children, our work may begin with a child who is blind, deaf or insensate. And it is our job to teach parents how to make their blind children see; their deaf children hear; their insensate children feel. It is our job to teach parents whose children have been diagnosed as profoundly mentally retarded to be above average intellectually. Now, in addition to our work in our children’s center, we are responsible for the Evan Thomas Institute. So this is our program for the parents of well children. It has both an early development program and an international school. And it is here that we pioneer advanced intellectual, physical and social programs for brain injured children and well children alike.
